Fourth Grade's Toucans

Fourth Graders made awesome toucans on black construction paper with oil pastels. They did an excellent job blending and choosing colors that look nice together! These toucans are some of my favorites every year!

Kindergarten's Hand-Print Birds

I helped the kindergartners paint and print their hands onto paper. Once those paintings were dry they finished the artwork up by making their hands look like birds! They did an excellent job creating detailed birds with umbrellas and raindrops.

Kindergarten's Flowers In Rainbow Order

We had some serious fun painting flowers in rainbow order in kindergarten! Look at the different flowers they learned how to paint and the nice, neat job they did!

Fourth Grade's Tinted Backgrounds and Palm Tree Silhouettes

Fourth Graders learned about how to create tints of a color by adding white. They chose one color for their background and each time they painted, they added a little bit more of the color to a large amount of white so that the tints would be a little darker each time. After the palm trees were added, the results appeared very tropical! :)

Second Grade's Swirly Cityscapes

Second Graders created swirly, decorative skies just like Van Gogh did in the "Starry Night." They made silhouette type buildings and houses with black construction paper then used a yellow oil pastels to make light coming from the windows. After that, they chose a red/yellow/orange or purple/pink/blue color scheme to create the designs and swirls in their skies.

First Grade's Underwater Scenes

First Graders learned how to draw different types of fish by using various types of shapes, then they created an entire underwater scene and painted it using watercolors. They came up with great ideas and really neat paintings!

Fifth Grader's Palm Tree Silhouette Paintings

Fifth graders learned about what a silhouette is and how to draw palm trees for this painting. Have you ever tried cutting out a palm tree? It's definitely not the easiest thing to do, but after a little practice--most students got the hang of it! They also mixed colors to create beautiful ocean skies and realistic ocean water. I love how these turned out....they have me wishing I was somewhere tropical right now! :)
